Andrew Smith, a multiple degree holder from the University of Cape Town, after starting a profitable clothing and hair products business in Claremont during his early student years, began his career in property as a personal assistant to property pioneer, Pam Golding, before proceeding to manage most of their branches along the entire Western Cape. Two years later, he accepted a position with Seeff Properties and commuted between Cape Town, in the Western Cape and Johannesburg in Gauteng, until he bought over and ran the local residential branches for three years.
The go-getter then decided to operate independently and had the option of either starting his own company or of importing a brand with a well-established reputation from overseas.
Smith believed that the branding and reputation associated with Cluttons in the UK would encourage and establish a solid client base in South Africa.
Smith left Cluttons in 2008 and in 2010, Andrew, and his wife, Lana saw another opportunity and got the license to operate Chesterton, with 70 offices in the UK and international offices in Europe, Asia, Australia, the Middle East and now Africa.
Lana set up and managed the rental division for Seeff and Cluttons SA and worked as the rental manager for the last 15 years, and has taken her experience and knowledge to successfully manage the rental division for Chesterton South Africa for the last 10 months. Since there launch of Chesterton in South Africa, Lana has also been involved in many sales for this and their already established company, namely Stonehurst Properties.
The Smiths have travelled to every major country in the world, observing the trends and practices in real estate and noting ideas for advancing this field.
Andrew and Lana Smith are set to change the face of the property industry in South Africa and abroad.

Tony was the Marketing and Sales Director of the Waterfront’s Marina Residential complex from inception and his knowledge and expertise, not only of the Waterfront itself, but of the property market in general, is more than impressive. As an engineer and businessman, Tony is especially equipped for the planning and marketing of property projects.
He is currently pioneering an online marketing project for the property market and can give expert opinion on values and market trends.

Janice is a well known and well loved property consultant from her years at the V&A Waterfront’s Marina sales office. A thorough professional in all her property dealings, Janice’s speciality is Sectional Title sales, starting in the business in 1984 selling developments off plan. She joined the V&A Waterfront sales team in 1999 at the launch of Marina Residential and sold the development off plan to the value of just over R2billion.
Janice is service oriented and has developed lasting relationships with buyers, sellers and investors over the years, through her work ethic , people skills and proficiency in the property field.

Vanessa handles all rentals at the Waterfront office. She has been involved in property rentals for 20 years and from this experience, is firmly in touch with market trends and rental prices throughout the City Bowl and Atlantic Seaboard. Her experience covers commercial, retail, industrial, residential letting and property management. Originally from KwaZulu Natal (where she 3 times won the award for most deals done by one agent per quarter), she has been in the Cape for 13 years.
Vanessa is a single mother of a gorgeous little boy and her hobbies revolve around personal and business development, health, wellness and entrepreneurship.

John and Lynda established a property investment business in 1994
• On purchasing an apartment in the Waterfront in 2002, set up Home
from Home Hospitality Services to look after, market it and provide
guests services. This company is registered as an estate agency with
fidelity find certificate, which now manages some 35 apartments for
serviced rentals in the Waterfront.
• Dealing in short term, extended stay and long term rentals only, it made
sense to progress to owning an international brand real estate agency
to give a full range of services at the Waterfront. Hence, Chesterton
Waterfront was established in 2010.
John and Lynda love to travel, are passionate about the bush and John loves to go fishing. They will finish building their self-catering lodge at Royal Jozini Big 6 (number 6 being tiger fish) in Swaziland during 2011, which fulfils all their passions in life – mountains, water, scenery, pristine bushveld, game watching and fishing!

David was born in England but brought up and educated in Zimbabwe. After travelling in Europe, David spent 27 years as a senior executive in the fashion industry, the latter 7 of which he owned his own chain of 12 fashion and accessory stores. At the turn of the millennium, David became a founder member of Cluttons to introduce this prestigious British firm of Chartered Surveyors and Property Consultants to Cape Town. Based at the Waterfront, David's focus has been properties along the Atlantic Seaboard, particularly The V&A Marina, Clifton, Camps Bay and Bakoven. David’s success has been based on product knowledge, sound ethics, unparalleled service and uncompromising integrity.
In his spare time, David likes to read, walk on the beach, enjoy good food, explore new restaurants, travel the world and spend an abundance of quality time with his young daughter
